Does size matter?

Gmail started with free accounts offering space over 1 GB, Rediffmail and Yahoo followed suit with mammoth 1 GB and 250 MB each…. with e-mail accounts that size, the marginal utility between 1 GB and 250 MB is not all that much- especially if you are an average user of e-mail. Hotmail is the latest to join on the diskspace bandwagon– in August a modest mailbox notice tells me Hotmail too shall provide some hundreds of megabytes…

What maketh a e-mail system unique?… I would venture perhaps it is speed and ease of use over space. Gmail still gets my vote.
