Back in the days of the browser wars I used to love Netscape. Then IE took over and for all practical purposes the only thing to have literally taken the web back since then is Firefox.

Anyway, it was time for one of my study breaks so I was checking out the latest Netscape release (8.1), which as it turns out is a buggy Firefox clone. The history of Netscape and Mozilla is very interesting… the power struggle of a company which eventually gave into open source.

The Book of Mozilla says thus:

"And so at last the beast fell and the unbelievers rejoiced. But all was not lost, for from the ash rose a great bird. The bird gazed down upon the unbelievers and cast fire and thunder upon them. For the beast had been reborn with its strength renewed, and the followers of Mammon cowered in horror."

From The Book of Mozilla, 7:15

A biblical Mozilla clone, check out the Wikipedia entry on the book of Mozilla. Hehe… 😀

  1. I like that ‘firefox-like’ picture … real cool.

I’ve always enjoyed IE even during the browser wars – but that’s only till I discovered firefox!
